Call for entries to Red Deer Festival of the Performing Arts

Red Deer, January 10, 2012 – The 49th Annual Red Deer Festival of the Performing Arts welcomes entries to this year’s festival, which is scheduled from April 23 - 27, 2012.

The Red Deer Festival has grown to become one of Alberta's largest competitive classical music festivals of its kind with over 1,100 entries and more than 6,000 participants who range in age from about 5 – 25 years old. These young, amateur musicians compete in a wide range of musical disciplines.
This year’s festival features new classes in Voice, Piano, Musical Theatre, Instrumental, Strings, Band, Choral and Speech Arts.

For those without computer access, print copies of the syllabus and entry forms are available at the Red Deer College Arts Centre security desk or at 53rd Street Music, located at 4902 – 53 Street in Red Deer.

The deadline for entries is January 31, 2012.
