November Visual Art and Music Program Showcases at RDC
Red Deer, November 1, 2011 – RDC has a rich line up of visual and performing art throughout the year and November is no exception. The Visual Art and Music Programs will showcase new work this month at different locations on campus.
The Visual Art Department Exhibition: Tools
November 1 – December 12 | RDC Library
Opening Reception: Friday November 4 at 4:30 p.m.
The Visual Art Department exhibition for 2011 is entitled
Tools and features a collection of recent work by the Visual Art faculty and staff. Each artist in the exhibition has contributed an image of a tool that has helped them craft their work. The exhibition is part of Red Deer Galleries' First Friday events.
Feature artists include Ian Cook, Trudy Golley, Lisa Turner, Robin Lambert, Jason Frizzell, Dan Anhorn, Avery Andrykew, Dave More, Brenda Draney and Julia Schumacher. The artists will be in attendance at the opening reception on Friday November 4.
Music Program: Thursday Live
November 3 1:00 p.m. | RDC Arts Centre Mainstage
Each month the RDC Music Diploma Program will feature a Thursday concert at 1:00 p.m. This month’s Thursday Live concert features performances by jazz bands, a percussion ensemble and the RDC Chamber Choir. Select songs include
All Of Me, Frim Fram Sauce, On Fire, and in recognition of Remembrance Day, In Flanders Fields. Admission is $2 and all proceeds from the concert are being donated to United Way.

th Anniversary of the Arts Centre.
