Open Call for Performing Artists

Red Deer, June 28, 2011 – Red Deer College is hosting an open call for local performing artists for a showcase performance in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Arts Centre in conjunction with Alberta Arts Days 2011.

This showcase will kick off the celebrations on October 1, 2011 on Mainstage at the RDC Arts Centre.

This call is open to residents of Red Deer and Red Deer County only. To submit an entry, artists must complete the open call entry form and provide the supportive materials outlined in the form. All disciplines and genres are encouraged to submit. There is no submission fee. The deadline for submissions is Monday, August 1, 2011. Artist submissions will be juried by a community panel, and a line-up of artists from a variety of styles and disciplines will be chosen to perform at the showcase.

The 2011/2012 season at RDC represents the 25th year of performance and instruction within the Arts Centre. It has showcased hundreds of performances over that time and presented arts within the community of Red Deer. The Arts Centre 25th Anniversary Launch weekend, September 29 - October 2, will feature family-friendly cultural activities and a free evening showcase highlighting local artists, with events throughout the city, and concerts at the Mainstage each night.
