RDC Appoints New Vice President of College Services

Red Deer, October 21, 2011 - RDC is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Brinkhurst as Vice President of College Services.

Brinkhurst will join the College’s Senior Administration team as the leader of a wide range of support services and College operations.  For the last 15 years Brinkhurst was the Vice President of Corporate Services at Assiniboine Community College (ACC) and was appointed as Interim President prior to his final year.

“I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Brinkhurst,” says RDC President and CEO Joel Ward.  “Jim was part of the phenomenal growth of ACC with the college doubling in size over the last 15 years.  As central Alberta grows, RDC will grow with it, and Jim’s experience will be important strategically.”

A Certified Management Accountant, Brinkhurst is a graduate of the Leadership Academy.  He also holds a diploma in Business Administration from Red River College and is completing his Masters of Education at Brandon University.

The College Services division of RDC includes departments such as Financial Services; Information Technology; Campus Management; and Marketing, Communications and Student Recruitment.
John Chapman, our current Vice President of College Services who retires at the end of December, will work closely with Brinkhurst to assist him in the transition.

“I’m excited to be joining RDC at a time of growth,” says Brinkhurst.  “RDC is an institution that provides exceptional opportunities for students in the Red Deer region. I believe that students not only want a great educational experience, but also a great student life experience. Something that RDC is well positioned to provide.”
