RDC Launches Facebook Page
Red Deer, October 24, 2011 – Red Deer College launched its new facebook page today. The page serves as the official facebook presence of RDC online and links to other official RDC facebook pages that include the Alumni Association, RDC Athletics, Campus Rec, the Library, and Performing Arts.
“This facebook page is a way to connect to and create community with friends of RDC,” says Cindy Corah, Online Marketing & Communications Coordinator. “We’ve launched into facebook because it’s another significant way the College can connect with the community.”
The page will be used to share the things that RDC is excited about such as news, special events, programming information and to celebrate what happens in daily life on campus at RDC.
To encourage participation, the College is giving away an iPad 2. Facebook users who “like” RDC will be given the chance to win the device. “As central Albertans move into social media, we’re moving into new technologies with them” says Corah. “We’re working to connect with the greater community through twitter, by providing useful Apps for smartphones, and now with our new presence on facebook.”
The iPad contest will run until November 14 and is open to anyone who likes our page. The RDC facebook page can be accessed at www.facebook.com/RedDeerCollege.
