Communities of Practice

Measuring value and innovation in communities of practice

This project evolved out a partnership with SEARCH Canada, AACTI, Health Workforce Research Network of Alberta, Calgary Learns and RDC. COFFEE – Community of Facilitators For Education and Exchange. How can CoPs capture their active knowledge exchange, measure their value in managing system change and transfer their innovative knowledge products to use? Our team leads the measuring progress working group of the project. It serves to 1) align a student based research project at RDC with the development of assessment tools for CoPs in Alberta, 2) provide strategies to support CoP facilitation, development and practice, and 3) build relationships with numerous Health CoPs in Alberta to help manage system change and knowledge transfer.
