Human Research Ethics Scenarios at RDC

First check to see which situation applies to you:

I am not sure that what I am planning to do is considered to be 'research'.

I will be conducting research on human participants, or I will be supervising others who will be conducting research on human participants.

I may be conducting research on humans in the future, or I may be supervising others that will be conducting research on human participants in the future.

I have been approached by an external person or agency - non-college student or staff - who wishes to conduct research using RDC students or staff as participants.

I have already begun my research, and have only now realized that I was to have had my research approved.

I have already had my research approved by the REB, but some changes have to be made before research begins.

I, my students, or an external person or agency whom I act as a contact, am planning to repeat research that has already been approved and conducted in the past.

The REB has either disapproved my research Application, or has asked me to make changes that I believe can't be made.

Participants have lodged a complaint over how my research was done.

I am aware of research that has not been approved, or I have concerns with research that has previously been approved.

I wish to become a member of the REB.
