How To Apply

For detailed information regarding admission to RDC, please refer to the Academic Calendar Admission process.

Submitting a New Application Online (credit card required):

You can submit an online application to RDC through Apply Alberta, the Alberta Post-Secondary Application System.  This online application process makes it easy for you to apply for admission and if you attended high school or post-secondary in Alberta, your transcripts will automatically be sent electronically to RDC at no cost to you.

Follow these easy steps:

  1. Click on the Apply Alberta link and select the Apply Now button.
  2. You will be asked to register for an account with SIAMS, the Secure Identity and Access Management System.  Please retain your User ID and Password for future use.
  3. You will need to find your Alberta Student Number (ASN).  This step is applicable to all students, whether you are a resident of Alberta or not.  If you are not a resident of Alberta and/or have never attended an Alberta high school or post-secondary school, an ASN will be assigned to you.
  4. Create your personal and academic profile at Apply Alberta.
  5. Select Red Deer College to have your profile forwarded to us and then complete the remaining portion of the RDC application.
  6. Submit your RDC application with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

Transcripts

You must arrange to have an official copy of your high school transcript and all post-secondary transcripts sent to us. An official transcript is one which is sent directly from the Provincial Ministry of Education or from the issuing post-secondary institution.

If you are applying through the Apply Alberta system, you are authorizing RDC to obtain Alberta high school transcripts from Alberta Education and transcripts from any participating Alberta post-secondary institutions that you previously attended.  If an Alberta post-secondary institution is currently not a participant with Apply Alberta, you will be notified that you must request your transcript from them to be sent to RDC.

Transcripts and other documents become the property of RDC and will not be returned you. If your file is inactive for two years, you may be asked to submit a new set of documents with your application.

When To Apply

It is to your advantage to apply as early as possible since most programs can accommodate only a limited number of students. We process applications according to the date they are received.  If RDC declares a program closed, you will no longer be able to apply for that program for that year.  For more information on closed programs, contact admissions@rdc.ab.ca or phone 403.342.3400 to inquire if your program choice is still available.
