 Who are we?

Students and Faculty from Various Programs (i.e. Health Care Aide, Practical Nurse, BScN) in the Nursing Department

 What is our purpose?

  • To address, coordinate and evaluate matters relating to student awards, issues, orientation, information and recruitment to nursing programs at RDC.

What do we do for All the Programs within the Department?

  • We bring forth student issues for discussion and strategizing at the department level.
  • We coordinate, review and recommend the nomination and selection of student awards and scholarships from faculty, RDC, and the University of Alberta.
  • We recognize significant student life events on behalf of Faculty such as a marriage of a student, a birth, a serious illness or death of a member of the family.
  • We develop strategies and coordinate activities related to the promotion of our programs as viable career options.
  • We bring forth student issues for discussion and strategizing at the department level. 

What do we do for Specific Programs within the Department?

  • We act as a resource to elected Liaison representatives on Nursing Society, or to Nursing Students regarding student issues and problems.
  • We organize and provide information sessions for incoming PN and BScN Students.
  • We develop strategies and coordinate activities related to the promotion of nursing as a viable career option.
  • We act as faculty representation on the RDC Nursing Society.
  • We act as a resource to elected Liaison representatives on Nursing Society, or to Nursing Students regarding student issues and problems.
