WHAT’S NEW!!!

April 2012
The spring semester begins shortly - May 1. This year we have 10 VA students ready to graduate. Be sure to watch for notification of the June online VA conference, planned and hosted by our VA 160 Virtual Practicum students. From the comfort of your home, you can listen to international Virtual Assistant experts speak on a variety of topics.
Spring is finally here in Alberta, so I decided to walk to the downtown campus this morning. The street cleaning trucks were out, washing the sidewalks and streets. The clean, fresh look inspired me to begin the morning by tackling a few tasks on my to-do list that I have been putting off. What a great feeling of accomplishment that took so little time.

February 2012
The fall semester seemed to zoom by and here we are with one month already done in the winter semester. The Virtual Assistant Certificate Program would like to welcome our new students and welcome back our existing students.
So...this year is a leap year. Apparently, leap years are needed to keep our calendar in alignment with the Earth's revolutions around the sun. Which has me thinking about what I need to do to keep myself in alignment with my life's purpose. February is "heart month" so I'm thinking I will re-commit to exercising 3 times a week to keep my mind and body healthy and re-energized.

September 2011
Welcome new Virtual Assistant students along with our returning VAs!
We are trying something a little different this year: a Virtual Tea on Friday, September 23, at 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. (MDT) online in Wimba. VA students will have the opportunity to connect with their instructors, fellow classmates, and two graduates of the program who are operating their own successful VA business. We hope to answer any questions you may have about the VA Certificate. RSVP to bev.mccrostie@rdc.ab.ca and we will send you the webinar link.

June 2011
Last week at the RDC Convocation 5 of our 10 graduates were able to attend the ceremonies. I love teaching online but it's also great to connect face-to-face.
I am so looking forward to the Virtual Assistant Online Conference prepared by this year's grads. Be sure to set aside the morning of June 23 and join us for FREE. Register here.

April 2011
Wow! This semester went by so fast. Something we forgot to mention was that Mary Smith, one of our VA students, won silver in women's singles, bronze in women's doubles, and silver in mixed doubles at the ACAC Badminton Championships the February 11 and 12 weekend. These wins qualify Mary for Nationals!
The Spring semester begins May 2. So there is still time to register in OADM 201 Electronic Spreadsheets (Mondays & Wednesdays) and/or VA 140 Office Management for a Virtual Business (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
