About the Studios

Studio A is a prefect illustration of the Arts Centre's versatility. This 8.5 metre high space is used for rehearsals in drama, dance and music, as well as for alternative public performances. There is no permanent stage constructed, therefore sets and seating can be arranged in any configuration - from theatre in the round to traditional staging. Because the amount of floor space in this studio is the same as that on the Mainstage, Studio A is the ideal location for groups to rehearse productions before moving to the theatre. As well, the scene shop is accessible via the catwalk, which crosses over the hallway, linking the two areas.

Studio C and D are large rehearsal halls designed to accommodate choral, dance and instrumental groups. Studio B is almost identical in design, but larger and can hold a 65-piece orchestra. The atmosphere in all of these studios is enhanced with the introduction of natural light through the skylights and sprung oak, wooden floors. Overlooking Studio B is the recording studio which is large enough for recording equipment and operating technicians.
