Life at RDC

Volunteer Information

A minimum of 100 hours of volunteering is required as part of the admission process, and it is recommended these be completed in a human services organization.  Opportunities can often be found in helping agencies, outreach organizations, schools, hospitals, crisis lines, among others. Ideas for volunteer placements within the local community can be found at http://cirsonline.ca/ (click on volunteering).

It is recommended that the hours be completed at one organization, as a reference is required from the person who supervised your volunteer work. Your volunteer work needs to involve contact with people as your primary function (rather than office work, fundraising, etc.).

Any questions about the suitability of volunteer experience may be directed to Pat Couture at (403) 342-3304 or pat.couture@rdc.ab.ca.
