Red Deer College Visual Art: Put Yourself in the Picture

A Program Built on the Development of Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude
The Visual Art Program at Red Deer College provides a comprehensive program of studies for those considering a career or general education in visual art.
The program offers both a two-year Visual Art Diploma stream as well as a two-year BFA University Transfer stream through a concentrated, studio-based visual art foundation approach. Gain intensive experiences in drawing, painting, visual fundamentals, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and art history.
Practicing Artists Actively Engaged in the Art of Teaching
All instructors and technical staff in the Visual Art program are practicing artists who integrate their own experiences as professionals into their teaching methodologies.
The Visiting Artist Lecture Series and Artist in Residence Program bring in practicing artists for lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and short-term residencies.
Teaching Collections for Study and Inspiration
The RDC permanent collection houses over 700 pieces, including works by old, modern, and contemporary masters. There is also an ever-growing collection of student work, demonstrating our legacy of excellence.
