Rookie of the Year – Brad Hughes

Brad made a big contribution in his first year with the Kings. Brads ability, leadership and communication skills were instrumental in the Kings winning 3 of their last 4 league games to gain access to the Conference Championships. One of the big moments and a turning point in the Kings season was Brad saving a penalty kick against Medicine Hat. This provided the spring board for the team to go on and win a game that the team HAD to win. Congratulations Brad.

 

Most Improved Award – Louis Porterfield

Louis’s passion and desire to be a winner was in evidence during the season with his all action displays in the centre of midfield for the Kings. Lou played to his strengths within a structured system and played an important role breaking up opposition attacks with his aggressive style of play and bone crunching tackles. Lou leads by example and improved immensely as the season progressed. Congratulations Lou!!

 

Coaches Award – Cory Schlosser

Cory took his game to a different level this season and performed consistently well throughout the season. Cory showed excellent leadership qualities and played a major role in helping the Kings make the Conference Championships. Cory’s skill, work rate and physical presence in the middle of the field provided the foundation for the team to compete and gain some much needed victories. Cory is a well deserving recipient of this award. Congratulations Cory.

 

Most Valuable Player – Keegan Sheehan
Keegan was the top goal scorer in his first year playing for the Kings and joint top scorer in the ACAC South division. Keegan came up with some big goals when required and his quality in front of goal was there for all to see. One of the highlights during the season was a 4 goal performance against Lethbridge to secure a place at the Conference Championships. Selected to the All-Conference South team, Keegan is a worthy and deserving recipient of the Kings Soccer MVP award. Congratulations Keegan.
