| Rookie of the Year – Boston Maris |
|
Boston came in this year as our third middle blocker and did a great job for us in that capacity. He thinks the game very well which is crucial for a somewhat undersized middle blocker. Boston was always ready when called upon at match time and was a difference maker during some key matches for us. He is another one of our young guys that has a tremendous work ethic and very much is a team first individual. Boston has improved a great deal throughout this season and I am sure that he will flourish in a starting role next season. Congratulations Boston.

| Most Improved Player – David King |
David is a very good athlete that has a very big upside to his game. He came to us this year after training with the U19 Provincial Team this past summer, but it was obvious in September that he was still just scratching the surface of where he could get to as a volleyball player. David has improved tremendously throughout this season in all facets of the game. He is extremely coachable and well respected by his teammates and goes above and beyond what is asked of him on a daily basis. I am very interested to see David’s continued improvement throughout the summer and next season as he takes on a more critical role with next year’s team. Congratulations David.

| Coaches Award – Darcee Froese |
Darcee came to us in a back-up setting role this year and did a great job for us in that capacity throughout the first semester. With some personnel changes taking place over the Christmas break, Darcee was asked to work in as a left-side player and did a tremendous job in that role as well. It was very obvious from the start that Darcee would do whatever he could to help make the team successful and that is refreshing to see in any college age athlete. Darcee has been a pleasure to coach and we are very happy to have him back with us next season. Congratulations Darcee.

Mitch had another great season for the Kings Volleyball. He was 1st in the ACAC in aces per game, 2nd in kills per game and 2ndin total points. He was named to the ACAC All-Conference Team and was the ACAC Volleyball player of the year. He was named as an All Canadian for the 2ndstraight year and was named the CCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the year for 2009-2010. Mitch also received Academic All Canadian status for his hard work in the classroom. He is a tremendous student-athlete with a great attitude and he will be greatly missed at RDC, as he will be moving on to the U of A next year…..Congratulations MITCH.
