Building Communities Through Learning
RDC's Future
Red Deer College has been an integral part of the growth and prosperity of central Alberta. Since 1964, our College has helped improve the business, social, and cultural climate of the city and region. Our campus serves as a stage where Albertans of all ages can learn, develop and grow.
Planning for the future
Our College, city and region have grown rapidly, in population as well as in opportunities that provide a wonderful quality of life.
As part of the progress, we are committed to growth in facilities and programs to meet the current and future needs of Red Deer and central Alberta.
The needs are diverse. RDC reflects diversity in its comprehensive programs, facilities and supports.
Here’s what we’ve already accomplished:
• an Arts Centre for College and community courses, performances and gatherings – celebrating 25 years!
• a public-access Library Information Common
• degree-completion options and more to come, so students can learn in and remain in our great region
More recently:
- four new Centres offering advanced opportunities
- Trades & Technology
- Innovation in Manufacturing
- J.B. Quinn Centre for Corporate Training
- Visual Art
For all of our successes, we know we need a competitive advantage to stay in a leadership position. We must grow along with our communities – to help people expand their credentials, retrain for a changing economy, explore new ideas and design new ways of working and living.
Our next phase of facility development will encompass:
- Health
- Centre for Health Education
- Wellness Village
- Active Living
- Centre for Sport & Wellness
- Athletics Leadership Fund
- Business & Entrepreneurship
- Donald School of Business
The demand continues within each of these facilities for the direct support of our learners through Access & Excellence.
RDC is looking forward. As we develop our long-term sustainability, RDC continues to create opportunities and renew our commitment to learners, employers and communities. We invite you to join us.
