Meeting Needs
Why are we growing?
RDC has a commitment to student success and is focused on meeting these demands:
- Employers in many sectors are seeking additional skilled employees.
- Many programs at the College are currently unable to meet student demand for space.
- A recent study concludes there is strong demand for degrees in central Alberta.
- Our recreation and wellness facilities have not kept pace with the growth in our communities and our student numbers.
- The demand for qualified health care workers is growing rapidly as our population ages.
Building Communities Through Learning is meeting those needs with:
- six new learning centres
- learning space to grow by almost 50%.
- $5 million in new Scholarships & Awards.
- expansion in programs, including degree-granting programs.
- doubling of apprenticeships.
- doubling of nursing and health enrolments.
- new degrees in areas such as Business and Humanities & Social Sciences.
The need to attract, develop and retain highly qualified people across many areas is undeniable. RDC is growing to meet these needs with Building Communities Through Learning.
