Perspectives Speaker Series

We believe in the importance of dialogue and analysis when it comes to current events. Perspectives: Canada in the World is a series of public lectures featuring internationally recognized speakers talking about issues that are important to our community and beyond. Our fascinating guests are sure to spark your intellectual curiosity.

Our latest speaker, on May 8, 2012, was Ambassador Gary Doer.

Ambassador Doer served as Premier of Manitoba for ten years where he worked extensively with U.S. Governors to enhance Canada-U.S. cooperation on trade, agriculture, water protection, climate change and renewable energy.  As Premier, he led strategic investments in health care, education, and training and infrastructure. In 2005, he was named by Business Week magazine as one of the top 20 international leaders on climate change. In October 2009, Gary Doer assumed his responsibilities as Canada’s 23rd representative to the United States of America.
