Chris Ellertson

Chris was born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada in 1976.  He was raised in rural Alberta on a beef farm, and from an early age showed a talent in drawing. Chris did his best to maintain taking the most basic of school art classes but the farm came first and the art did not make money so it was constantly a struggle to find mentorship in a creative way. At 14 art was Chris's goal and he had the work ethic to propel this forward. At eighteen he travelled to Norway on an agri-exchange and was forever changed. The Scandinavian culture, and the history propelled him into many creative avenues. Chris oil painted in Norway was exposed to metal working and knife building. He attended 1 yr of ACAD and then began an apprenticeship in welding to build on a discipline in sculptural.
