Child Care Centre

The Centre is a licensed and accredited day care and accommodates 50 children from 2 ½ to 6 years of age on a full or part-time basis. The Centre is used by RDC students and staff, and members of the community.

Children are placed in an appropriate group depending on the age and needs of the child and the available space at the Centre. We try to ensure that once a child is placed in a group with specific caregivers they will remain in that group. Sometimes changes are necessary and desirable. Within each main playroom there are 25 child spaces with 3 child caregivers. Each staff person is assigned to family group of children to maintain observation records, compile child portfolios and to facilitate division of the group at other times such as lunch, field trips, gym, etc.
