About Rez

Welcome to Residence at RDC

On behalf of myself and the rest of the Residence Life team at RDC, I would like to thank you for considering our campus as your new home away from home! And, for those of you who are back for another year, we're glad to have you back and hope this year in Residence is even better than the last!

Residence is more than just a roof over your head. The Residence Life team strives to ensure that your experience is an incredible amount of fun and that your memories of your time in "Rez" are fond. Some of the activities that you can expect include: BBQ's, movie nights, potluck dinners, trips to CFL games, self-defense training and wall climbing, just to name a few. Any suggestions? Talk to your Resident Assistant or the Residence Life Coordinator about an activity or event that you would like to see and they will try to make it happen.

Are you interested in getting involved in the Residence community? A number of leadership positions are available and will provide you with the opportunity to enhance your communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and the skills needed to be a part of a team. Watch for posters or talk to your Resident Assistant

The Residence staff are eager to answer any questions you may have prior to moving in, or during your stay at RDC. We sincerely hope that you have a positive and productive year.

Purposes & Goals

Being a part of a Residence community is an essential element to the total college experience, especially when the Residences are within (quite literally) a 5 minute walk to the student's classes. Having a student community that is so close in physical space, and shared interests, results in a vibrant and active student life. Our Residence units are environments where students can realize their academic goals, as well as develop socially, becoming strong and independent leaders of tomorrow.

  • We are committed to providing an opportunity for students to live in a dynamic, safe and welcoming community to enhance their academic and life learning experiences at RDC
  • We highly stress responsible behavior and respect for the rights of all residents and staff

The Residence Life Team prides themselves in creating an atmosphere conducive to participation and communication. Through the Resident Assistants and the programming that is organized throughout the year, students are encouraged to have a say in their own personal development, as well as grow with other students as part of a community. We promote a wide array of events throughout the year. Events that will not only allow the students to socialize and interact with other people, but events in areas such as: health & wellness, community service, skill building , and recreation, all of which culminate to emphasize the person as a whole.

After living in Residence, you tend to understand and adhere to new and advantageous ways of thinking, and decision making. By being a part of people's lives (people of different backgrounds, different fields of study, and different lifestyles) the RDC student comes out of this experience with a deeper clarification of their significance, and acceptance of one's responsibility to their society, and to other people.
