PARKING
RDC is a vibrant campus - we have lots going on and we welcome you here for whatever activity may bring you!
Public Parking
Hourly or short term parking is available in public lot P - West and Lot P - East where payment is in effect from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
Cash or credit card is accepted for payment at the "Pay and Display" kiosks:
- Weekdays: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM - $2.00/hr to max of $8.00/day
- Evenings: 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM - $1.00/hr to max of $4.00/day
- Weekends: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM - $1.00/hr to max of $4.00/day
Metered Parking
If you are staying for a shorter time parking meters are conveniently located in front of the main entrance, North of our Library, and West of the Arts Centre. Time limits in metered parking are restricted and parking rates are enforced from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM at a cost of $2.00/hr.
Weekend and Evening Parking
Weekday evenings 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and all day on weekends from September 1st to June 30, parking is free in lots A, B, D, M, N, Q, R, T, and U.
Lot C is designated as a reserved parking lot from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays. Without a monthly reserved hanger, Pay and Display rates are in effect from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM weekdays and all day on weekends.
Staff parking lots F, H, J, L, and O are reserved 24 hours 7 days per week September 1st to June 30th (signs are posted identifying these lots).
During July and August parking is free in all public and unreserved parking lots on campus with the following exceptions:
- RDC Parking is not allowed in the Bethany Collegeside parking lot
- Lot K is reserved for Residence only
Public Parking for Persons With Disabilities
Parking stalls for people with disabilities are located throughout the campus to allow for ease of access to all College facilities. Handicapped stalls are located in lots P - East, C, West of the Arts Centre and in front of the main entrance and are identified with signage. Parking in these stalls requires a valid handicapped parking placard that must be displayed where it is clearly visible.
Parking Regulations
Parking regulations are enforced daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Failure to comply with the parking regulations could result in your vehicle being ticketed and/or towed.
- All vehicles must have the assigned parking hanger or vending machine receipt clearly visible:
- the parking hanger should be hung from the rear view mirror with the correct side facing out
- the paid parking receipt should be displayed face up on the dash.
- Only park in your assigned lot
- No person is permitted to remain in a vehicle parked overnight on campus
- Please follow all site speed limits - RCMP photo radar enforced
- Lost or stolen parking cards or hangers must be reported to campus security (A replacement fee of $10.00 will be charged).
RDC does not assume any liability whatsoever for vehicles or their contents. By parking your vehicle on theses premises it is expressly understood that you assume all responsibility for the vehicle and its contents.
Residence Parking
Students living in on-campus housing must fill out a separate parking application form. For more information on parking in Residence, view the Residence website.
Student Parking (Non - Apprentice)
Parking is reserved for students attending RDC and all students must be registered and payment for parking received before parking privileges will be granted.
You may request parking by visiting the Cashiers Office in person or submitting a completed application form and accompanying payment to the Cashiers Office. Parking stalls are assigned on a first come first served basis. The current parking map can be viewed on the second page of the application form.

Student Parking Rates
- Lot C, D, M (paved, unreserved) Fall & Winter terms: $225.00 Spring term: $56.00.
- Lot N, Q, R (gravel, unreserved) Fall & Winter terms: $195.00 Spring term: $49.00.
Parking is free in lots D, M, N, Q, R weekday evenings 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM, all day on weekends and anytime during the months of July and August.
Lot C parking:
- 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM weekdays requires a Lot C hanger.
- 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM weekdays and all day weekends with any lot hanger can park free.
- 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM weekdays and all day weekends without a parking hanger must pay 'Park and Pay' rates.
- Anytime during the months of July and August parking is free.
Student Parking Refund Policy
Students who have formally dropped or withdrawn from RDC will be eligible to request a parking refund by returning the parking hanger to the Cashiers Office.
Apprentice Student Parking
You may request parking by visiting the Cashiers Office in person or submitting the completed Apprentice application form and accompanying payment to the Cashiers Office. Apprentice fees must be paid before the application will be processed. Parking is assigned on a first come, first served basis The current parking map can be viewed on the second page of the application form.

It's easy to pre-pay your parking and save on waiting times at the Cashier:
- Mail in your completed Apprentice Parking Application form with a cheque payable to Red Deer College at: 100 College Boulevard, Box 5005, Red Deer, AB T4N 5H5
- Phone in with a credit card - contact the Cashiers office at 403-342-3132
- When registering by phone or in person at RDC, request to apply for parking at the same time
Note: Cashiers has a drop box at RDC, located near the Security Desk where you can drop off envelopes with cheques/applications.

Apprentice Student Parking Rates:
- Lot A (paved) $14.00/week.
- Lot B, T, U (gravel) $12.00/week.
Parking is free in these lots evenings 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM weekdays, all day on weekends and anytime during the months of July and August.
Parking for Students and Staff with Disabilities
Parking stalls for people with disabilities are located throughout the campus to allow for ease of access to all College facilities and are within close proximity to entrances.
Students and staff with disabilities may request handicapped parking by visiting the Cashiers Office in person or submitting a completed application form and accompanying payment to the Cashiers Office. A valid handicapped parking placard must be presented with your application. Students must be registered and parking payment must be received before the application will be processed.
Alternative Transportation Options

Donald School of Business (DSB) Student Parking
Various parking options are available for students while attending the DSB downtown or main and downtown RDC locations.
Please investigate the various options below to find a parking solution that works best for you.
Public Transit
Public bus passes are available for the DSB students at a half price rate and include unlimited access during days, evenings and weekends.
Half price City of Red Deer bus passes can be purchased by presenting your DSB iCard:
- On the RDC main campus at the Students Association office only (not at The Lift) with cash, debit or credit card
- At the downtown campus at the RDC resource desk with iCard, debit or credit card only (no cash or cheques)

Parking Downtown
Due to the geography of our downtown campus, parking for students on site is not available. There are a variety of downtown parking options such as parkades, pay and display lots, private lots, meters and some free locations.
A full slate of available downtown parking and maps is posted on the City of Red Deer website. In addition, monthly parking is available at the Millennium Centre and other downtown locations.
Every effort will be made to work with students with special needs to ensue that an appropriate parking solution is identified.
Attending Classes in Both Downtown and Main Locations:
If you are utilizing the public transit for travel to DSB downtown, you may purchase parking at RDC main location for half price (with DSB iCard). You may request parking by visiting the Cashiers Office in person or submitting a completed DSB student parking application form and accompanying payment to the Cashiers Office. Students must be registered and parking payment received before the application will be processed. Parking stalls are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
If you are paying for parking downtown you will be granted free parking at the RDC main location by displaying your downtown proof of payment (hanger or ticket) so it is clearly visible by security personnel. Free parking for DSB downtown students is available in public lot P - West and P - East only. The current parking map can be viewed on the second page of the application form.
DSB Students Living in Residence
DSB students living in residence can park in residence lots and ride public transit to the downtown location. Students can access the half price bus pass - see Public Transit above.
Additional Information for Parking Downtown
Parking is available in the public surface lot (North of the Millennium Centre) and the adjacent Sorensen Station parkade after 5:00 PM and on weekends at no charge. Parking is available on the ground level of the Millennium Centre parkade after 6:00 PM and on weekends at no charge.
