RDC Disability Services provides exam accommodations to students who:
- have registered with Learning Support Services. (Call 403.357.3629 to book an appointment with a Disability Services Coordinator. Please note that registration must be renewed for every academic term.)
- have provided documentation to support the need for exam accommodations.
- respect procedures and deadlines for accommodated exam services.
- have made all necessary arrangements with external institutions to write accommodated exams at RDC.
Examples include extended time to write, assistance of a reader/scribe/typist, access to alternative format (e.g., large print, oral exam), use of assistive technology or equipment, or using an alternate room (e.g., Test Centre).
All exam accommodations are booked and approved by one of two Accessibility Consultants who can be contacted by phone at 403-357-3629, by email at disabilityservices@rdc.ab.ca, or in person in room 1006V in the Library Information Common.
You may submit your exam booking requests either by using the paper booking form (available at the Learning Support Services Desk in the Library) or you can submit exam bookings electronically from the RDC LOOP (sign in to the LOOP, open the “STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES” tab, and then under “DISABILITY SERVICES” click on “Accommodated Exam Booking”).
If you are registered to receive extra writing time for your exams, the Accommodated Exam Time Options chart might help determine the start and finish times for your exams.
Email confirmation of all exam bookings will be sent to your RDC email account. It is your responsibility to ensure that no errors have been made in the accommodations, day, time, or course.
Any cancellations, changes or corrections to accommodated exam bookings must be approved by your instructor and processed through an Accessibility Consultant.
All accommodated exams are written at the RDC Test Centre in the Nova Learning Commons.
