We are excited that you are considering RDC as a part of your future. RDC is college as you always imagined it would be … great programs, great people and a great campus … all right in the heart of central Alberta, Canada.
RDC is able to offer a genuine educational experience - small enough not to be intimidating, but big enough to offer independence, experience and provide our students with a great education. RDC has adapted with the changing economy and offers a practical “how to” approach to education.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
One of the most obvious ways we can help you succeed is through financial support. Through an increased bursary, scholarship and awards program, we are making every effort to ensure that you can get to college. Last year alone we gave away 480 scholarships and awards totaling approximately $390,000. Visit awards and scholarships for a listing of scholarships we have available.
While you are searching the many scholarship options remember to apply for the HSBC International Student Scholarship, designated specifically for new and returning international students.
HSBC International Student Scholarship
Entrance Award:
Value: $1,000.00
Eligibility: An international student who is beginning full-time studies in a credit program at RDC, who has been admitted as an international student.
Continuing Award:
Value: $1,000.00
Eligibility: An international student who has completed a recent academic year in a credit program and is returning to RDC for full-time studies in a credit program.
VOLUNTEERING
Are you looking for a way to give back to the campus or community while studying? Why not take a study tour and learn a new culture or sign up with a campus club or committee and let your voice be heard. Keep the earth clean by participating in our Green Campus initiative, volunteer with the Students’ Association, or share your brilliance as a student tutor. There will never be a lack of opportunities for you to grow at RDC.
NEW LEARNING SPACES
Not only does RDC offer a quality education in a friendly environment, but we are also on a major expansion track that will allow us to share the RDC experience with even more students in the years to come. Our new Centre for Trades & Technology and Innovation in Manufacturing opened its doors to students and staff in the fall of 2008. The Centre for Corporate Training opened in February 2009 with the Centre for Visual Art following in late spring 2009. Our largest growth project since 1964 has now added 18,000 square metres (200,000 square feet) of learning space to our campus. That is a lot of space for growing minds we cannot wait to welcome to campus!
PROGRAMS
While studying at RDC, you will be provided with challenging academic studies and English language learning opportunities in classrooms where you will be fully integrated with your Canadian fellow students. Your education program will be based on high standards of academic excellence.
ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE PROGRAMS
RDC offers an intensive English Language program with 5 levels. Each level is 14 weeks long. Along with small classes, our students enjoy all the services and extra-curricular programs available to other RDC students.

CERTIFICATE AND DIPLOMA PROGRAMS
RDC Certificate and Diploma programs are intensive programs that offer international students Canadian qualifications within a one or two year time frame. Certificate and Diploma courses are ideal for students who are looking to gain Canadian schooling experience in a short amount of time.
UNIVERSITY TRANSFER PROGRAMS
RDC is a great place to start and finish your education, but if you think you might like to start at RDC and then transfer to another college or university, we offer numerous programs.
DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAMS
We just know that once you get here, you will understand what makes RDC a great place to be. Small classes, personal attention, people who really care about your success and a safe city to live in. Quality education options include getting your University of Alberta, University of Calgary or Athabasca University degree right here at RDC.
APPRENTICESHIP TRADES AND INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAMS
With apprenticeship training, you get practical, on-the-job training while you earn a wage. We offer technical training in 16 different high-demand trades. Our apprenticeship programs were ranked highest in Alberta in a recent survey.
