Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement recognizes learning that enables students to waive a course prerequisite and register directly into a higher-level course, or acknowledges that the desired learning outcomes have been achieved in an equivalent course. Advanced Placement is applicable for students transferring courses accross programs within RDC. Appropriate documentation, or demonstration of learning, usually takes the form of an official transcript, but the determination of suitable supporting documentation will be made by the College Assessors.

If a student is granted Advanced Placement in a course, the information will appear on the College transcript as "AP", with no credit weight assigned and no grade attached. The prerequisite course requirement will be satisfied, or waived, and the student can proceed to the higher level course. The fee for this process is $50 per application, and students will be advised of the fee requirement, if applicable, after submission of their completed RPL application.
