Printing

All Library Computers and Laptops have access to printers:

  • 3 black & white/colour laser-jet printers (located in main computer area)
  • 1 black & white/colour laser-jet printer (located in multimedia computer area)
  • 1 black & white/colour laser-jet printers (located in Library Instruction Lab)

Printing Costs

  • Black & White printing: 10 cents per page
  • Colour printing: 50 cents per page

All printers are equipped with a card swipe attachment that allows you to use your Red Deer College iCard as a debit card to pay for printing. You must have money on your iCard to print as there is no coin printing in the Library.

If you do not have an iCard, you can purchase a Community iCard for $1.00 at the Library Circulation Desk. You can add any amount onto the card for printing, photocopying, or use elsewhere on campus.

You can add value to your iCard at:

  • Library Circulation Desk (accepts cash, cheques, debit cards, Visa, Master Card, American Express)
  • iCard Loading Dock located just outside the Library by Starbucks (accepts cash only $5, $10, $20 bills)
  • Cashiers Office (accepts cash, cheques, debit cards, Visa, Master Card, American Express)

Photocopying

There are 2 Photocopiers located in the Photocopies Room on the 1st Floor of the Library and 1 photocopier on the second floor.

Library photocopiers provide black & white copying only. If you require colour copying or transparency copying, visit the Document Centre.

Black & White Photocopying Costs

  • 10 cents per page using iCard (all photocopiers in Library accept iCard)
  • 15 cents per page using coins (available on 1st floor photocopier only)

Microform Reader and Printer

There is 1 Microform Reader located on the main floor. The reader will handle microfilm reels.
Ask the Library Information Desk staff for assistance in using this machine.
