New Resource Centre for Teachers at Red Deer College Library
Students in Red Deer and across the province will benefit from a new resource centre for teachers at Red Deer College Library.
The Career and Technology Studies (CTS) Resource Centre is one of just two in the province, with the other located in Calgary.
The Centre will offer print, digital and online resources for more than 1,000 CTS courses such as computing science, financial management, mechanics, fashion studies and cosmetology offered through the Catholic and public schools.
Located in RDC Library's Curriculum Collection, the Centre is run by the Red Deer Catholic Regional School Division as the lead on the project, but is open to both public and Catholic teachers in Central and Northern Alberta. The three-year project is funded through Alberta Education, with seven other school districts, Red Deer College and the Central Alberta Regional Consortium also involved in the project.
The resource centre can help teachers find the proper resources for their courses and allow them to have a chance to view them before purchasing them, said CTS project director Paul Couillard, who is also the CTS department head at Notre Dame High School in Red Deer.
