Centre for Teaching and Learning
Who We Are
The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is an academic area that inspires excellence and advances a teaching and learning culture for Red Deer College.
As educational innovators and change agents for the College, the CTL team demonstrates a commitment to our learners and focuses on all aspects of learner-centred practices at a post-secondary institution. This purpose aligns with the strong and intentional message found in Red Deer College's Strategic Plan, Comprehensive Institutional Plan, and Academic Plan- all which articulate a commitment to academic excellence and a learner-centred culture.
Connect with Us
Our team is happy to assist you with areas such as:
- curriculum design and development (face-to-face, online, blended)
- implementing educational technologies in the classroom
- navigating through RDC's learning management system, Blackboard
- and more!
We welcome you to work in our space (913C) which offers open areas for collaboration, independent work, and a sound room for multimedia development.
Simplified Online Teaching
Courses offered online in response to emergency situations differ from well-planned online courses. In response to the COVID-19 disruption, the Centre for Teaching and Learning has simplified our current Framework for Quality Online Courses to support the transition of additional courses to online teaching for the Spring term. We encourage you to review the simplified process and related resources, and then reach out to the CTL (ctl [at] rdc [dot] ab [dot] ca) with any questions and for one-on-one support.
