Red Deer Polytechnic updates COVID-19 protocols aligned with Stage 3 of Alberta's Open for Summer Plan

As the province progresses into Stage 3 of Alberta’s Open for Summer Plan, Red Deer Polytechnic has adjusted its services and operations accordingly.

Red Deer Polytechnic will align with the Government of Alberta’s COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, with some additional requirements and recommendations for those who visit the post-secondary institution. While students, employees, and guests are not required to wear a face covering on-campus, this practice is still encouraged, along with maintaining a physical distance of two-metres from one another, when possible.

Individuals who arrive at Red Deer Polytechnic will be required to check-in each day using the SAFE RDC App and to maintain good hygiene practices, such as washing their hands often. Those who feel ill are asked to remain at home.

Summer 2021 Term will begin July 5 and Red Deer Polytechnic’s courses and programs will continue with their original format of program delivery, which includes in-person, online, and blended.

Additionally, students can still apply to attend Red Deer Polytechnic this fall, with flexibility to attend on a part-time or full-time basis. The institution has scheduled a variety of online and in-person courses, to help provide options to suit its students’ preferences.

A diverse range of summer camps and workshops for youth and adults will also begin soon. Information is available, and registrations are still being accepted online by visiting
