Welcome Message from Dr. Peter Nunoda
I would like to welcome you to Red Deer College, a post-secondary institution that is building on its strong history as a college to become a dynamic university for people from central Alberta and beyond.
As RDC’s 11th President, I am honoured to be here and to lead this College as we continue the transformative work to become Red Deer University.
The evolution we are undertaking is very important, because it will allow us to serve even more people, and that is the fundamental reason we exist. As a university, even more students will be able to stay in Red Deer and complete their education in Red Deer, graduating with degrees.
In addition to granting our own degrees, we will offer a unique university model with a breadth of credentials to educate students across a wide variety of disciplines, preparing them for their future careers. Across all of our programs, an emphasis on experiential, applied learning with practicums and co-ops will help students and graduates to transition seamlessly to the workforce.
RDC is a dynamic institution, with facilities that are second-to-none for teaching, learning, research and innovation. We are also a place where community members, partners and guests from across the country gather for programs and activities that range from community- to national-level events. Without a doubt, RDC is a pillar in this community, and our bright future means the opportunities for our students and our community members will only continue to grow.
I encourage you to connect with Red Deer College, whether that is exploring our website and social media channels or visiting our inclusive campuses. RDC has an exciting future ahead, and you are most welcome to be a part of it.
