Research at Red Deer Polytechnic
Research at Red Deer Polytechnic provides innovative and collaborative opportunities for community partners, business and industry, along with students, faculty and staff. Many diverse projects have been successfully undertaken, supporting applied learning for students, community initiatives, innovation and manufacturing across central Alberta and beyond.
With more than 100 programs offered at Red Deer Polytechnic, faculty and staff have strong expertise across a range of disciplines, allowing them to share knowledge and research opportunities with students. This enhances student learning, while also increasing collaboration between faculty, students and partners as they undertake unique projects across a wide variety of topics.
Business, industry and innovators can draw on the experience and assistance of faculty, students and the staff in Applied Research and Innovation. Community and non-profit organizations also benefit from research partnerships with Red Deer Polytechnic, drawing on the expertise and support from staff, faculty and students to undertake a variety of projects. The myriad projects are enhanced by the industry-leading equipment found in Red Deer Polytechnic’s research facilities and centres.
Across the range of projects, the Office of Research and Scholarship works with the Research Common and the Research Ethics Board to guide research and scholarship, including offering administrative support, support for research and teaching with animals and oversight for grant applications and grant management. This work is supported in part by the Government of Canada's Research Support Fund.
Red Deer Polytechnic has endorsed the Government of Canada's Dimensions Charter for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
