COVID-19 Vaccinations

Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) students enrolled in Health programs are strongly encouraged to be immunized against COVID-19, as it can affect your ability to be guaranteed a practicum placement.

Although Alberta Health Services (AHS) has removed the mandatory requirement for COVID-19 immunization, other clinical partners still require students to be fully immunized. RDP is obligated to ensure that students comply with each partner’s requirements.

In particular Health Care Aide (HCA), Practical Nursing (PN) and Bachelor of Science Nursing (BScN) practicum placements occur with various clinical partners who still require students to be fully immunized against COVID-19.

Without COVID-19 immunization, RDP cannot guarantee HCA, PN and BScN students a practicum placement. This will result in either a delay or inability to complete your program.
