Entrance Testing - Online Typing Assessment

Typing Testing

The Entrance Testing - Online Typing Assessment is available via online, remote delivery for applicants and students who need to complete this assessment for admission into specific RDC programs and courses. Through the use of an online typing assessment tool, applicants and students are able to complete this testing at a time that is most convenient for them (24/7).

Before registering for the Entrance Testing - Online Typing Assessment, please read the following guidelines closely:

  • You are permitted to attempt the assessment as many times as you wish (until successful).
  • There is a fee associated with the assessment. You must pay this assessment fee for each attempt you complete.
  • You will need access to working computer speakers or headphones (recommended) and a reliable internet connection.
  • Registration with Typist, the online typing assessment tool provider, is required.
  • You will have an opportunity to practice (within Typist) prior to completing the assessment.
  • The assessment may take up to 45 minutes to complete (and cannot be saved and resumed later), so you must ensure that you have sufficient time to complete it in its entirety before you begin.
  • You are not permitted to access or use any unauthorized resources on the web or in your testing environment while completing the assessment.

IMPORTANT: If you are registered with Accessibility Services and would like to inquire about the possibility of accessing your approved exam accommodations for this assessment, please contact Testing Services test [dot] centre [at] rdc [dot] ab [dot] ca (via email) prior to submitting your assessment fee and completing the assessment.
